Tallow Africa has integrated a thermal infrared sensor together with the airborne survey equipment in order to produce thermal ortho-maps.

The integrated sensor is a FLIR A65 sensor and is produced by FLIR Systems in Wilsonville OR, United States.

The FLIR A65 sensor enables CKAS to produce thermal maps at resolutions of 50 to 100 cm GSD at 0.1° C sensitivity.

The main applications for these technologies are pipe leak detection and near-surface coal fire detection.
